Scam Advisory
Scam Alert: Impersonation Phone Calls
We have been alerted to incidents where members of the public, including contractors, have received phone calls from individuals attempting to impersonate staff of Xinmin Secondary School.
Beware of these scam phone calls:
-
If the calls come from overseas numbers, you may wish to note that Xinmin Secondary School does not make calls from overseas.
-
If the callers invite contractors or vendors to bid for renovation/refurbishment jobs but require them to purchase materials from another company or their own company first, it is likely to be a scam.
Protect yourself:
-
Be vigilant. If you receive such a call, ignore it and do not pick up.
-
Do not transfer any money to the caller, either via remittance agencies, banks, or any other means.
